Welcome to the studio blog of Kim Heffington Photography. I am a portrait photographer located in Goodyear, Arizona - just a few minutes west of Phoenix. I have the best job in the world creating photographs for expecting moms (and dads to be!), newborn babies, children of all ages, high school seniors and amazing families.

Meet Brian – a recent high school graduate. I’ve photographed his older brother and sister, so this time around it was Brian’s turn. We held the session at his home and found all the nooks and crannies of great light around their property. We even rolled out the boat and got a few fun shots before the sun set on us. He’s a great kid and I have to say I love the hair!

Kyler came in for his four year portraits and brought along his cool new low rider bicycle. I often don’t use props in portraits because I like to focus on faces and personalities. However, I do encourage parents to bring items along when they are special or fun items that can be used in the session. Kyler’s bike was the perfect accessory! And it helps to rock a cute faux-hawk, too!
I met this wonderful family through a referral from a previous client. Have I mentioned that I absolutely LOVE referrals? I do! It’s the best compliment when my clients tell their friends and family members about me and my work. So…thank you, Julie!
These beautiful twin boys were so easy to photograph! I think it had a lot to do with how calm and easy going mom and dad were during the session. They seemed like old pro’s at this newborn thing – it was so neat to see! As a result of this the boys slept through the entire session and just let us do our thing.

Kaia and Cloe came in during one of the Monday mini-sessions I offered this Spring (I told you I was behind!). I’ve photographed Kaia since she was 2 years old, so it was fun to meet her new baby sister and see her in that role. She takes her job as big sister very seriously and she’s a great helper for Mom. Here’s a few collages Mom recently ordered.
- You got SO MANY great sibling shots - that is one huge accomplishment! Those collages are to die for.
This is Alex…patiently waiting for his new baby brother to make his way into the world. I am in love with this series of photos. I think they’d make a great storyboard for the nursery. Oh, and wait until you meet the new guy – he’s adorable!
